What is BAIL?
Security for appearance in court; a sum of money deposited to secure an accused person's temporary release from custody and to guarantee that person's appearance in court at a later date. Bail is a financial arrangement that a bail bonding agency will make on behalf of the defendant. A bail bonding agency, acting for the defendant, will arrange with the court to have a suspect released from jail pending the trial in exchange for money or collateral, which may be cash, assets, or a bond.
How does BAIL BOND works?
When a Bail Bond Agent writes a bond for the release of a defendant, the Bail Agent charges a fee of usually 10% of the bail amount that is required to pay the bond. This initial fee is not refundable, even if the case is thrown out after the defendant posts bail.
